Distance Learning:

Register :: Proctors

A Course Proctor must receive your course materials and administer tests. The integrity of the University of Arizona’s Distance Learning examination process is fundamental to our program. To ensure the integrity of this process, we carefully review the credentials of prospective proctors.

You must choose a person from the following list to act as a proctor:

  • personnel or human resources director at your place of employment
  • a full-time librarian
  • administrator at a local school or college
  • school superintendent, principal, counselor, administrator, or faculty member who is not your co-worker
  • faculty member or administrator at an accredited college or university
  • corporate education director
  • commissioned officer whose rank is higher than your own, or the education officer of the base (for military only).

Your proctor cannot be related to you in any way or be chiefly a friend (it is not necessary that you know your proctor – many students meet their proctor for the first time when they approach them about proctoring).

Students are required to submit the Proctor Agreement Form. This form identifies the proctor selected, includes the terms and requirements for proctoring, and is signed and submitted by the designated proctor.
