Meeting the Needs of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses
In the United States, small and medium-sized enterprises are central to the U.S. economy, accounting for the majority of all new jobs created. In order to be competitive in today’s global marketplace, small and medium-sized businesses must have workforces that are technically skilled and knowledgeable about sophisticated processes.
With the aim of bolstering the economic growth of small and medium-sized businesses throughout Arizona, The University of Arizona Center for Computer & Professional Education offers professional development and information/technical training and programs specifically designed to meet the specialized needs of this segment of the business community.

The UA Distance Learning program works with other departments and units on campus to develop and deliver specialized certificates and degree programs using video, CD-ROM, and Web technology. Engineering and Optical Sciences courses are featured, as is a Master of Engineering degree that can be completed entirely at a distance.
