OLLI/UA/Marana is one of three campuses of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute in Southern Arizona affiliated with The University of Arizona. All OLLI chapters are independent nonprofit organizations affiliated with colleges and universities. UA OLLI is one of more than 100 institutes located around the country.

OLLI’s purpose is to provide learning opportunities to adults 50 years of age and older in a supportive and constructive environment. It is a member/volunteer-driven organization with dynamic study group leaders willing to share their passion of a subject with other OLLI members. Individuals choose to become part of a group to either further their knowledge of a given topic or to be introduced to subjects previously unfamiliar to them. Opportunities exist for in-depth discussion and lively social interaction, all of which enhances the joy of learning and the development of mental fitness.

OLLI/UA/Marana offered nine courses in our inaugural Spring 2009 semester. For the Fall 2009 semester, we are offering the following courses:

The Fall, 2009 course schedule begins on October 12 and ends December 4. Courses run for two hours once a week.

Generally, we meet in the Tortolita Room in the clubhouse at Heritage Highlands. Our community of 1,200 homes on Dove Mountain is easily accessible. Take I-10 or Oracle Road north to Tangerine Road. Turn at the light for Dove Mountain Boulevard, and proceed about 2-1/2 miles to the gatehouse on the left. After going through the gate, drive a short distance and then turn left at the tennis courts. Free parking is always available near the clubhouse.

The recently renovated clubhouse offers dramatic views of the Tortolita and Catalina Mountains, and Tucson below. The restaurant is open for a snack, lunch, dinner, or a relaxing drink before or after class.

We invite you to join us on the newest campus of UA OLLI!
